THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE RYUEIRYU ASSOCIATION.>>

We are deeply saddened at the loss of Nakaima Kenji, 5th Generation Headmaster of the Ryueiryu and personal teacher of Grant Campbell, Shihan. The primary aim of our association remains to continue the path, directions and instruction of Nakaima Sensei and the art of Ryueiryu as taught by him.

The Ryueiryu Karate Kobudo Association-USA (RKKA) was established in 1994 at a meeting held in Okinawa, Japan and the first ever RKKA International Gasshuku (training camp) was held in 1996. The RKKA was established by Grant Campbell, Shihan with the support and backing of the Nakaima family, senior Sensei in Okinawa (many of them students of Kenko Nakaima), and the senior students of Master Nakaima.

Grant Campbell, Sensei is the first and only American to receive full training in all aspects of the system and is licensed to teach the art of Ryueiryu by his teacher Nakaima Sensei, the Soke of Ryueiryu. He was introduced to and tutored in the system by former World Champion of Kata, Sakumoto.

The original purpose of the RKKA-USA as set forth then, was to preserve and protect the true teachings and philosophy of Grandmaster Ryu Ryu Ko as practiced the Nakaima family. This purpose still remains as the primary theme of the RKKA today. To this end, Campbell Sensei conducts daily training and periodically offers seminars and courses in various locations each year.
